Especially in today’s world, change surrounds us–in every aspect of our lives. Then, during the changes, we ourselves are called to change. Have you found yourself in the midst of a life change or a change that someone else or circumstances is asking you to make?

Over a cup of coffee or tea, women explore the graces and challenges of their lives as seen through the eyes of faith.  Marie Miller, IHM, is our facilitator. 

During America’s 250th anniversary, it is important to focus on foundational figures from the African American community like Elizabeth Freeman “Mum Bett” (1744-1824), Phillis Wheatley (1753-1784), and Harriet Tubman (1822-1913), who fought for freedom and shaped national and democratic ideas.

On October 2, 2006, the worst school shooting in Pennsylvania history took place at a one-room Amish schoolhouse in Nickel Mines. Ten girls were shot, and six were killed. The nation was captivated by the Amish community’s response: in a world often drawn to revenge, they chose forgiveness.

Thomas Merton once described Fr. Alfred Delp as a “mystic” and counted Delp’s writings among the most profound Christian meditations of our time. Delp’s Advent reflections, written during his final imprisonment while awaiting execution for resisting Hitler and Nazism, are especially moving.
