IHM Wish List 2017-2018

IHM donors have always been very generous when it comes to supporting the sisters. Now they have a unique opportunity to make life a little easier for the IHM Motherhouse residents.

Below is an updated wish list that highlights the 2017-2018 funding priorities. There are variety of items and gift ranges from which to choose.  Your gift of support will benefit the entire community, especially our retired sisters living within the Motherhouse.

Funding Priorities

Recliner Chairs
Recliner chairs provide added comfort and help to reduce leg swelling. They are used in health care and memory care.

  • Need: 15 – $1,500 each
  • Total Cost: $22,500

Vital Signs Blood Pressure Monitors
New blood pressure machines to replace exhausted equipment in health care and memory care.

  • Need: four – $2,500 each
  • Total Cost: $10,000

Oxygen Concentrators
These concentrators are used to deliver oxygen to those who require it. The concentrator filters in air, compresses it, and delivers air continuously. The air supply will never run out.

  • Need: 18 – $500 each
  • Total Cost: $9,000

High Flow Oxygen Concentrators
These concentrators are designed for patients with severe cases of low oxygen in the blood stream and provide a high flow of air that is necessary to meet their oxygen requirements.

  • Need: 2 – $1,100 each
  • Total Cost: $2,200

Sit to Stand Transfer Device
This lifting equipment will assist our staff with safe resident transfers – one position to another.

  • Need: two -$1,400 each
  • Total Cost: $2,800

Bariatric Reclining Shower Chair
These shower chairs provides safety, comfort and peace of mind to post stroke residents who are unable to bend their joints easily.

  • Need: three -$600 each
  • Total Cost: $1,800

Pressure Reduction Mattresses
Mattresses provide residents pressure relieving support to prevent and heal pressure ulcers.

  • Need: 20 – $440 each
  • Total Cost: $8,800

Vigil Memory Care Wireless Call System
This wireless call system will be added to our current wired safety system. It uses sensors and sophisticated software to ensure resident safety while respecting their privacy and dignity of the resident. The system only calls staff when a resident is outside their safe behavior pattern and not every time they move.

  • Need: one – $13,400 (includes parts & labor)

Touchscreen Laptop
Touchscreen Signature Laptop that provides engaging activities for memory care residents where they can experience art, music and travel.

  • Need: one – $800 each
  • Total Cost: $800

Biodex Balance System SD
This system has been designed to meet the needs of everyone looking to improve balance, increase agility, develop muscle tone and treat a wide variety of pathologies. It is the only system that provides a fast, accurate fall risk screening and conditioning program for older adults.

  • Need: one – $14,400    
  • Total Cost: $14,400

Therapeutic Cycling System
The Omnicycle is similar to an ordinary exercise cycle, but can be powered by the arms or legs. It also has a special motorized system that senses the amount of help needed to exercise. This allows those with physical limitations to participate in therapeutic exercise activities sooner after illness or injury.

  • Need: one – $8,200 each
  • Total Cost: $8,200

Large Flat Screen Televisions
These wall mounted units replace our aged TVs in resident lounges.

  • Need: nine – $500 each
  • Total Cost: $4,500

Biodex NEW Mobility Assist Device
This device is a motorized lift-assist device that brings patients from a seated to standing position. It is important to get patients up and walking This activity overcomes circulation problems, disuse atrophy, stimulates neural pathways, and plays a role in the patient’s sense of independence. Nebulizers
Nebulizers are used to administer medication in the form of a mist inhaled into the lungs. They are commonly used for the treatment of cystic fibrosis, asthma, COPD and other respiratory diseases or disorders.

  • Need: 10 – $35 each
