Gloria Flucke, IHM Associate, died Dec. 30, 2020, at age 78. She was the sister of Kay (Rose De Lima) Sheskaitis, IHM. While earning her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Detroit, Gloria taught fourth grade at Sacred Heart in Roseville, Mich. She later moved to the Chicago area and taught at St. Mary in Evanston, where she met her future husband; the couple had two sons. Gloria earned an associate degree in nursing from Rock Valley College in Rockford, Ill.
She retired from 16 years as a teacher in Michigan and Illinois and 40 years as a registered nurse, most recently as director of nursing for the Sisters of Christian Charity’s Sacred Heart Convent in Wilmette, Ill. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Evanston and served in the vestry and altar guild. Gloria became an IHM Associate in 2015.
