These issues correspond with the IHM community’s congregational priorities and with the fundamental principles outlined in The Earth Charter.

Standing Strong with Indivisible: Ways to Engage
Indivisible is one of the main activist networks these days, stretching across the country and very involved in demonstrations. Locally, here are a few Indivisible things you can connect with:

Combatting Authoritarian Practices: Lessons from Around the World

- Description: Amnesty International leaders from Hungary, Argentina, Kenya, and Turkey will share reflections on how those in power have leveraged authoritarian practices to restrict rights and how civil society adapted and learned to challenge them. They will share specific lessons learned on how to survive setbacks and push forward to advance human rights protections. Amnesty International aims for this to be a concrete discussion to inform US civil society as we move forward, and a Q&A session will follow. Protect International lifesaving and life-affirming aid

Enbridge’s Line 5 Oil Tunnel Project

- Description: Enbridge’s 72-year-old Line 5 pipeline has spilled 1.1 million gallons of oil along its length. Enbridge now wants to build a massive tunnel through the Straits of Mackinac to extend its life.
