Scala

At the IHM Motherhouse, Scala is located near the congregation’s Liguori Library. Spiritual seekers will find it to be a peaceful place, offering creature comforts, but more importantly, offering soul-expanding enrichment.

Books by noted theologians abound, as do tomes from lesser-known spiritual writers. Although the literature available in Scala may not be checked out, visitors are welcome to stay as long as they’d like.

Our Scala is named for the Italian birthplace of the Redemptoristine Sisters. St. Alphonsus Liguori, one of the patron saints of the IHM community, founded the Redemptoristines in 1730, two years before he founded the Redemptorists, also in Scala. Alphonsus was a moral theologian whose legacy lives on more than 300 years after his death.

It is a legacy we embrace. We invite you to experience Scala.
