Both scriptures and tradition point to the prominent role of Mary Magdalene in Jesus’ life. Mary is an early follower of Jesus. She is mentioned first in all New Testament lists of those looking on at Jesus’ crucifixion…
And she is the first witness to the resurrection hence called by the Church Fathers “the apostle to the apostles.” In this presentation, we will seek to identify her role in Jesus’ life by examining the scriptures and subsequent extracanonical literature. The hope is that her role in Jesus’ life and her close bond with him will strengthen our own relationship and intimate bond with Jesus.
