“Spirituality of the Twelve Steps” will be facilitated on Thursdays by Diane McCormack, IHM.

This three-week online series will explore the Twelve Steps, discovering God is wherever there is restlessness in our lives. We will reflect upon each Step as well as the attachments we have to certain behaviors that may interfere with our relationship with God. We will ponder the gifts of living the Twelve Steps and the joys of re-capturing the meaning of living a balance life. Participants need not be familiar with the Twelve Steps or with addiction to benefit from this program. Download the flyer.

The registration deadline is Oct. 29; the suggested offering is $30. To register, contact River House – IHM Spirituality Center at riverhouse@ihmsisters.org or 734-240-5494. Instructions to access the webinar will be provided at registration.

Saturday, November 14 9:30 am - 12:30 pm Deep Incarnation and Evolutionary Science: Grounding a Compelling Christian Spirituality Today - Visitation

“Deep Incarnation and Evolutionary Science: Grounding a Compelling Christian Spirituality Today” will be facilitated by Mary Ellen Sheehan, IHM, STD.

Contemporary theologians such as Nils Gregersen, Elizabeth Johnson, Ilia Delio and Denis Edwards refuse today’s separation of science and religion. They lay out the connection in compelling “new” and “ancient” theological reflection on Jesus as Incarnate Word. What does “deep incarnation” mean? How does it invite us to embrace fully both evolutionary science and evolutionary theology in understanding and action? This workshop will explore the emergence of “Deep Incarnation” and engage us in individual and group spiritually nourishing reflection.

Saturday, December 12 9:30 am - 12:30 pm Advent: Opening Our Hearts with Radical Hospitality - Visitation

“Advent: Opening Our Hearts with Radical Hospitality” will be facilitated by Julie Vieira, IHM, MA.

Advent is a season not only of waiting but of opening our hearts to receive the presence of the Christ. How do we practice this hospitality of receiving the Christ generously in our lives? How does this practice extend to our day-to-day life – our identity, calling, work and relationships? We will explore the concept of radical hospitality as a spiritual discipline and reflect on it through reflection on theology, scripture and the arts. We will also have time for personal quiet and for conversation.
