Associate candidate makes commitment with the IHM Sisters
On Nov. 2, 2025, Dora Lezovich of Fowlerville, Michigan, celebrated her commitment as an IHM Associate with the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM).
The associate ceremony, known as the Rite of Commitment, took place at the IHM Maxis Spirituality Center in Riverview, Michigan. During her journey of preparation to become an IHM Associate, Dora was accompanied by her vowed companion, Sister Marianne Gaynor, IHM, who guided and supported her throughout the process.
Each new Associate shares a journal with their companion, providing a framework for exploring the congregation’s history, deepening their spiritual life, and experiencing the IHM charism more fully. Reflecting on her experience, Dora shared, “I feel IHM in my heart.”
IHM Associates are women and men who identify with the spirit, life, and mission of the IHM Sisters. While maintaining their own lifestyles, Associates covenant with the Monroe IHM community for a specific and renewable period of time, focusing on prayer, community, and ministry in accordance with their personal call.
