What is MiIPL?

Michigan Interfaith Power & Light (MiIPL) is a coalition of over 80 congregations across Michigan whose mission is to involve communities of faith as stewards of God’s creation by promoting and implementing energy conservation, energy efficiency, renewable energy and related sustainable practices. Through MiIPL, member congregations are now saving up to $20,000/year and 40% on their utility bills.

Michigan Interfaith Power & Light (MiIPL) is part of a national movement, with additional Interfaith Power & Light programs nationwide. Currently there are 17 programs across the United States and more are in the process of forming.

What is the IHM Connection to MiIPL?

SSIHM became one of the founding members when MiIPL incorporated in 2003 and is still represented on the MiIPL Board of Directors.

MiIPL Congregations are leading the fight against global climate change and pollution.

Since July of 2004 MiIPL member congregations are collectively saving an estimated $81,000/year on their utility bills.
