Visitation North – Coretta Scott King: A Woman of Grace
Saturday, April 8
9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Joni Scott, BA, facilitates “Coretta Scott King: A Woman of Grace.” Coretta Scott King was an American civil rights activist and the wife of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. She established a distinguished career in activism in her own right, including the founding of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change. In this program, we will explore her life’s journey beginning with her childhood in the rural South. Before her death at age 79, Coretta Scott King was an example of how to live by making a difference in this world. She was a woman of grace, faith, and hope.
This is the second of three presentations in the “Great Women Series. The third, “Mary Magdalene: History and Tradition,” takes place April 22, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Suggested offering is $25. Contact Visitation North at 248-433-0950 or firstname.lastname@example.org to register. Please note that Visitation North is not handicapped-accessible.
