Pilgrimage of the Heart: An Advent Retreat

Wednesday, December 13 - Sunday, December 17
10:30 am - 3:30 pm

Have you ever been on a pilgrimage of your heart? Mary and Joseph, the Magi, the angels, the shepherds, even the star have. In every part of the story that leads to the birth of Jesus, there is both physical movement and a pilgrimage of the heart. This four-day retreat will invite us to reflect on our own life’s journey. We will consider Howard Thurman’s prayer, “The Work of Christmas,” to find the lost, to heal the broken, to feed the hungry, to release the prisoner, to rebuild nations, to bring peace among  people, to make music in the heart. Please join us for this Advent retreat that will include prayer, presentations, handouts for reflection and times of stillness with optional sharing.

Chris Koellhoffer, IHM – Scranton, PA is a writer, presenter and spiritual guide. Some of her writings
include collections of daily prayers for Advent and Lent, as well as her blog, “Mining the Now.” Sr.
Chris travels throughout the United States and Canada, offering retreats and presentations. Her
worldview has been profoundly shaped by many influences, including the arts, the power of story,
and people on the margins.
