James Baldwin: The Fire Still Burns – A Conversation on Race in America will be presented by Joni Scott, BA. James Baldwin’s literary fame as a social observer grew with the Civil Rights movement as he reflected on the aspirations, disappointments and coping strategies of Blacks in a hostile society. In this program, we will examine some of Baldwin’s work and how he explored the psychological implications of racism for those oppressed and as well as for the oppressor.
