Congratulations to IHM Senior Living Community!

On Jan. 31, 2020, IHM Senior Living Community (IHM SLC) received results from the most recent review by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), earning an overall five-star rating.

CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help people compare nursing homes more easily. The Nursing Home Compare website ( features a quality rating system that gives each nursing home a rating of between one and five stars; five star-rating is considered to have much above average quality.

There is one “Overall” rating for each nursing home. Ratings for “Health Inspections”  contain the three most recent health inspections and investigations due to complaints, which is gathered by trained, objective inspectors who go onsite to the nursing home and follow a specific process to determine the extent to which a nursing home has met Medicaid and Medicare’s minimum quality requirements.  The most recent survey findings are weighted more than the prior year.

Ratings for “Staffing relate to the number of hours of care provided, on average, to each resident each day by nursing staff and considers differences in the levels of residents’ care need. Ratings for “Quality Measures” are based on information from 15 different physical and clinical measures for nursing home residents.  Quality measures offer information about how well nursing homes are caring for their residents’ physical and clinical needs.

In addition to the five-star rating in Overall Quality, IHM SLC earned a five-star rating in “Quality Measures” and a four-star rating in “Health Inspection,” “Staffing” and “RN Staffing.”
