A Moral Call: People of Faith Confronting the Tragedy of Gun Violence Prayer Service

The IHM Sisters will hold prayer services in Monroe and Detroit in remembrance of the 100,000 people in the United States who are killed and injured by gun violence each year. The services will take place on the fifth anniversary of the Sandy Hook School shooting, Thursday, Dec. 14.

The prayer service in Monroe will be held from 3-4 p.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel and will be Livestreamed. The prayer service in Detroit will be from 3:20-4 p.m. at Detroit Cristo Rey High School. These events are part of a nationwide collaborative effort to educate our communities on the growing tragedy of gun violence in the United States and to turn empathy into meaningful action.
