Holy Week Retreat

Sunday, April 9, through Wednesday, April 12, Sandra Schneiders, IHM, STL, STD will facilitate a Holy Week retreat in the Maxis Community Room at the IHM Sisters’ Motherhouse.

Doors open at 6 p.m. on Sunday; the program runs 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, the doors open at 10 a.m., and the program runs 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. There will be an optional liturgy Monday-Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel

The presentation of the Paschal Mystery of Jesus in the Gospel of John is unique in the New Testament. The focus of this Holy Week retreat is on the reality of the bodily glorification of Jesus, the union of the disciples with the glorified Jesus and the role of the disciples, especially women, in the prophetic ministry of proclaiming the Resurrection.

Sister Schneiders is professor emerita of New Testament Studies and Christian Spirituality at Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, Calif. Her current research and teaching interests include spirituality, Jesus in the Gospel of John, New Testament and religious life. She has written widely in various publications, some of which are currently on display at Santa Clara University.
